On the eighth day of Dhul Hijjah, the pilgrims put on their Ihram and head out of Makkah to Mina. They spend the whole day and night in Mina involved in prayer,  preparing themselves to set out to 'Arafat. They pray Dhuhr and 'Asr shortened to two Rak'ahs (units) each, Maghrib three Rak'ahs and 'Ishaa shortened to two Rak'ahs.
